What are the operating procedures for the rotary vane vacuum pump pumping system? Oct 02, 2023

The basic operating procedures for the rotary vane vacuum pump pumping system are as follows:

1) The rotary vane vacuum pump that needs to work with cooling water should be supplied with cooling water before starting the vacuum pump.

2) When the working environment temperature is too low and the rotary vane vacuum pump is difficult to start due to low oil temperature and high viscosity, the air inlet of the mechanical pump can be opened to the atmosphere, and the pump shaft can be manually turned before intermittent starting.

If it still fails, the pump oil should be heated to above 15 ℃. It is advisable to switch to vacuum pump oil with lower viscosity in winter.

3) After the rotary vane vacuum pump is started, it is necessary to check whether the oil in the tank reaches the center of the oil gauge, whether the vent valve is closed, and whether the pump sound is normal. After everything is normal, it can be connected to the pumped system.

4) If the atmosphere containing condensable gas is removed, the gas ballast valve must be opened to add air to prevent condensable gas from condensing in the pump and affecting the pumping performance of the pump.

5) A differential pressure relief valve should be installed at the inlet of the rotary vane vacuum pump, and when the pump is stopped, the relief valve should be automatically connected to release air into the pump. If there is no air release valve, the gas ballast valve can be unscrewed to add air, and then the pump can be stopped to avoid oil return and difficulty starting the pump next time.

6) After stopping the pump, the cooling water can be turned off.

The main precautions during the operation of a rotary vane vacuum pump are:

1) During the operation of the pump, the oil level in the oil tank should not be lower than the center of the oil gauge.

2) Vacuum pump oils of different types and brands cannot be mixed for use.

3) When the pump is in use and the air inlet is suddenly exposed to the atmosphere due to system damage or other accidents, the pump should be stopped as soon as possible and the pipeline valve connecting the pump to the vacuum system should be cut off to prevent the pump from spraying oil and polluting the work site.
